Gear is checked and serviced regularly so divers can focus fully on enjoying the underwater world of Pulau Tenggol. Whether you bring your own equipment or prefer to rent, AfroScuba provides clean, reliable setups suitable for beginners and experienced divers alike.

Changing areas, rinse tanks and gear storage are also available, making each dive trip smooth from start to finish.

Dive Boat – Stormtrooper

AfroScuba’s main dive vessel, affectionately named Stormtrooper, is designed for speed, stability and comfort. Departing daily from Kuala Dungun jetty, the boat transfers divers quickly to Pulau Tenggol and its surrounding dive sites.

Spacious benches, shaded areas and dedicated tank racks keep the journey safe and organized. The crew are experienced in handling gear and assisting divers, ensuring smooth entries and exits even for first-time visitors. With safety equipment, emergency oxygen and life vests on board, AfroScuba combines efficiency with peace of mind.

The ride itself offers beautiful coastal views before descending into the turquoise waters of Tenggol.

PADI Courses & Training

AfroScuba is a PADI 5-star dive center offering courses that cater to every level of diver.

Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Open Water Diver course, learning core skills in confined water before venturing into the reefs of Tenggol.

Advanced divers can progress to the Advanced Open Water or Rescue Diver courses, while specialties such as Nitrox, Deep Diver or Peak Performance Buoyancy help refine skills further.

Small class sizes mean plenty of personal attention from experienced instructors. Training combines theory, pool sessions and open water dives, giving students both knowledge and confidence to explore safely.

Where Is AfroScuba?

AfroScuba is located in Kuala Dungun, Terengganu, on Malaysia’s east coast. The dive center operates directly from Dungun jetty, the main departure point for Pulau Tenggol diving trips.

Kuala Dungun can be reached by road in about 4–5 hours from Kuala Lumpur or 2 hours from Kuala Terengganu airport.

Once at the jetty, AfroScuba’s team will assist you with check-in, equipment setup, and boarding their dive boat, the Stormtrooper.

The convenient location means divers can enjoy same-day transfers from land to sea, making it one of the easiest ways to explore Tenggol Island’s world-class reefs.
